LS Teacher Pages is an exciting new easy-to-use and cost effective tool for creating teacher and school websites. It integrates completely with the Empowered Desktop, making it easy to communicate and collaborate with colleagues, students and families. If you haven’t already seen it, we’ll be happy to show it to you and discuss how it can be added to your Desktop subscription.
Now available to teachers and administrators, the Class Management system allows you to group students into classes. This integrates with Test Builder, allowing you to deliver tests to specific groups of students, with Education Backpack, allowing you to share files more easily with students in your classes, and with LS Teacher Pages, allowing you to deliver assignments and messages directly to your classes. Look for Class Management when you click the Teacher Tools tab.
The Education Backpack has lots of new improvements, making it smarter and easier to use than ever. You’ll now find the Education Backpack on a tab rather than as a link on your main portal page. Education Backpack integrates with the new Class Management system and has a new file structure with Completed and New Assignment folders for each class. Each student now has a Graded Assignments folder where teachers can deliver their graded work. Teachers now have total access to their students’ files. Storage space is increasing, too. Teachers and administrators now have 25MB each while students still have 10MB. Teacher Pages and Test Builder both use the Education Backpack. When you create custom questions in Test Builder, any images you included are stored in the Education Backpack. Files uploaded to your website with Teacher Pages are also stored in the Education Backpack. Finally, have also added a zipped file functionality so that you can upload and download an entire folder of documents to or from your Education Backpack.
Subscription administrators will find all of their subscription-level tools on the Admin Tools tab, including some new ones. You can allow your students to manage and change their own passwords and you can require users change their passwords upon their first login. Subscription administrators now also have access to the Teacher Tools tab when logged in as an administrator.
You can continue to visit Kan-ed or the K-portal page to log in or log in at your own custom login page. Simply insert your subscription ID into the url — http://yoursubscriptionID.learningstation.com — to log in.
